Villalobos, Silvestre Carignan 2018

Located just outside the village of Ranuili in Chile's Colchagua Valley, the Villalobos' Wild Vineyard is about as rustic a vineyard you can get whilst still commercially producing wine. The vines were planted (pretty much at random) back in the 40s & 50s and left to grow wild. Now they're interspersed with native rose bushes, pine trees and blackberry bushes which makes for an incredibly fresh, almost primordial tasting wine. Silvestre 2018 is a lovely, bright, 100% biodynamically farmed Carignan which displays all of the vitality we love with this variety. Aromas of wild blackberry, raspberry and strawberry moves to a bright palate with further flavours of sweet berries, mint and smoke. A great wine to pair with lighter meat dishes or poultry.
